Alice Laughlin has been the CEO of Total Immersion Swimming since 2017 and co-founded the business in 1989 with her husband Terry Laughlin. Since the founding of TI, Alice has worked in nearly every capacity of this international organization: from marketing, sales, and management, to coaching and teacher training. She has done it all!
Alice has worked as educator for 50 years and has over 35 years of experience in coaching thousands of Total Immersion workshops, open water camps, TI coach training, as well as private lessons worldwide. In addition, she directs and manages the Total Immersion Swim Studio in New Paltz, NY, where she coaches all ages and all abilities. She teaches both children (ages 5 and up,) and adults of all levels: phobic; learn-to-swim; intermediate; triathletes & open water swimmers; advanced swimmers.
Known for her empathetic, lighthearted, and supportive approach, Alice meets each student where they are and masterfully guides each person to reach their full potential. One memorable story: Given a choice by their parents, 2 young brothers opted to spend their entire Spring Break taking lessons with their teacher Miss Alice instead of going to Disney World!
