Hello Swimmers,

Five months have passed since I became No.1 YouTube Swimmer in the world. I really appreciate your contribution to increase view counts.

It was released in 2008. Since then, I have taught TI in many ways as well as I have practiced and learned TI. I have published 23 DVD original titles and 37 video seminars in Japan. I will plan to release them in English soon.

And I also plan to direct some workshops in Hong Kong in cooperation with FloatPlus, Hong Kong’s leading learn to swim school.

The first workshop will be held on Nov. 3-4. There will be two workshops each day. In addition to regular workshop curriculums, I am going to add my secret recipes as follows;

Effortless Endurance Freestyle (November 3rd, 2012)
-	Using "tilting pelvis " technique to flatten torso
-	Introducing leaning non-kick drills to utilize gravity to shift the center of gravity
-	Basic arm movement to prevent from shoulder injury
-	Converting potential energy of elbows into momentum
-	Underwater breathing by creating a bow wave
Workshop details

2-Beat Kick and Effective Propulsion Freestyle Workshop (November 4th, 2012)
-	Ultimate Shinji style "flick" kick
-	How to create leveraged propulsion with core twist
-	Underwater finish to add more propulsion and make recovery more smooth
-	Tempo and stroke length control with "Swing sensor"
Workshop details

And I am planning to record "Sync-swim" with attendants. I will swim with you with matching the pace so that you can compare your form and mine frame by frame. It is one of the most effective way to improve your swim in such a short time period.
Please keep in mind that some secrets are made by me based on TI swimming method and may not be taught by other coaches. But they have helped to form my swim and we are successful to teach them in Japan.

I am looking forward to meeting you in Hong Kong!

For anybody who cannot attend workshops, I will try to translate my content and plan to provide seminars. I will post some on this TI coach blog, too.

(You can watch English subtitles if you double click the screen)

When you control your tempo, it is very important to keep your gliding time as long as possible. To do so, I recommend to use a bit slower(by 0.1-0.2 sec) tempo first to build a correct form. Then change the tempo a bit faster(by 0.01-0.03 sec) and try to keep the same stroke count. In a few weeks, your base tempo will be faster with the same stroke count, which means you can swim faster.

Some people may think I have been able to swim freestyle like a fish a long time before.

You are wrong! As you can see the video above, my freestyle before learning TI was terrible.

The main differences are as follows;

The long axis became very stable. My core body rotation and breathing (not raising my head) helped me to do it.

Less bubbles. Once you can glide, you do not have to pull the water with bubbles anymore.

From continuous kicking to snap kicking. The role of kicking used to raise lower body to get balanced, but now it helps my core body to rotate.

If I can do it, you can do it!

(Double click the screen to enlarge)

The objective of underwater finish is to make quick recovery.

When you finish your stroke, you normally push the water near the surface. Since your hand is pushed (far away from your elbow), it is difficult to relax your elbow at the recovery phase.

I recommend to finish underwater, which means you snap your hand in the water and use the resistance to move your elbow forward like bouncing.
