dreaming of swimming
OK, this is a little bit of a stretch, but in a recent blog by Terry he talks about how dreaming about swimming can help you to ingrain better technique. A while ago I had a dream that seems like prime time for this, so, forgive me folks, I'm going to lay it all out here for you.
I am in a very long hallway, and I am swimming, not in water but in the air. At first, I notice that my legs are dragging, and I am worried that they are going to hit the floor if I don't speed up. But then I shift my weight forward (the fruits of so much learning!) and miraculously my legs rise. Not only my legs, but the rest of me as well, and soon I am swimming close to the ceiling in the hallway. I focus on getting a good grip on the air, and I am amazed at how much faster I can swim through air than through water. I can only recommend air swimming to anyone who hasn't tried it.
For the last 4 days, I've been bed-ridden with a fever. I'm still too weak to swim, but I'm at the stage where I'm bored to death and looking forward to getting into the pool. That's probably why I find myself logging all of this stuff on this forum. Like I said at the beginning, forgive me folks!
