Default 30 laps in 18 days.

hi, i have a swimming trial for a biathlon race in 18 days.

i can swim 5 laps continuously, thereafter i would get breathless, and hence get tired.

any tips on how should i train in such a short period? i really believe i can make it by then, but i would like some advice on how to practice in the most efficient and fastest way.

any tips? thank you so much!

i have to finish the trial in 50 mins, if not i will not be able to compete in the biathlon. at meaning, at most i have to swim 1min40seconds per lap. but i can easily go past that speed. as this is my first time taking part in a biathlon, i would like to aim to just complete the race, and to put my swimming to the test.

D55555, do you consider 30 laps to be 30 lengths or 60 lengths?
Are these laps in a short course (25 yds. or mtrs.) or long course (50 mtrs.) pool?

Bro,
It seems to me that you are participating in the upcoming Singapore Biathlon organised by Safra. I saw from newspapers that swim trial will be conducted in open waters.
I have been practising TI for more than a year, I am no expert, and we are organising an open water swim this Saturday 15 Jan at Tanjong Beach, Sentosa, 2-6pm, there will be several TI enthusiasts like me present.
I don't gurantee you will be able to swim 1.5km in 50mins but I hope this Sat session can help you in some ways.
If you are interested, you can email me donwu@singnet.com.sg
