That was fun for me. When I saw it I thought, "Hmm legs are pretty low" and "that is a funny little upward scoop". It didn't occur to me that the upward scoop could cause the low legs.

Thanks,
Ron

I think both of those are natural first reactions to this video. My main focus in doing the video was to emphasize all the good things she is doing correctly...because she's worked hard on those. It's important to be positive in critiquing. Everyone (usually) tries their best.

But yes the upscooping hand in front feels better because it gets the head to air quicker, but it can cause a lot of drag in the back that's worse overall. Getting the steeper "bumper" angle may pull the head under at which point she may have to play with rebalancing. That's all part of the improvement process.

Motion Pro
Kinovea

Have tried them but they seem a bit harder to me than Objectus, but I didn't spend much time on them. Even in Objectus I just draw lines but am not making movies like I previously tried with the other two so they may be just as good. Kinovea is free.

Little off the subject, but how do you get those underwater shots? I bought an underwater camera, but having trouble getting someone to either stay underwater to do the filming. Does the photographer use a snorkel?

It's only 15 seconds of film. Can a friend hold their breath for 15 seconds?

someone can also kneel down at the edge of the pool and submerge the camera underwater with their hand. it works better if the videocam has a movable LCD screen so that you can flip it up while pointing the camera across the lane.

Actually its not the 15 seconds--its the buoyancy problem of trying to stay underwater, hold and focus a camera, and the problem of my husband being German and usually doesn't listen to anything I say! (Not your problem)
