Default VO2 Max

Hello everyone, my name is Nikolas and i am new to the forum.
I am 33 years old and into freediving, have been a waterpolo player for 3 years 14-17 years old and swimming on and off wintertime mostly.
I can easily do 1600m freestyle in 37' (i know its a not great time) with my heart rate less than 60% of max and usually with 5 strokes 1 breath for pretty much the whole length.
If anyone can suggest a simple training programme that might potentialy help me increase my VO2 max i would be delighted.

What is your reason for wanting to increase your VO2 max? Is it to improve your freediving, or your 1600m freestyle time, or something else?
