Thumbs up Trans-Pacific Swim by Ben Lecomte

In his nearly inconceivable stage swim from Tokyo to San Francisco, Lecomte will be swimming day by day as he makes his way across the largest body of water in the world. Armed with technology that will allow him to transmit what he sees and says to the outside world from thousands of miles away, Lecomte will take some time on September 22nd to update the audience at the Global Open Water Swimming Conference in Long Beach, California on his swim, his conditions and what he sees out where no man or woman has ever swum before.
More info here Ben Lecomte's Speech From The Middle Of The Pacific

I think I have to re-think about my long distance swim goals ;-)) Did you guys know about this?

That guy uses a wetsuit, fins, paddles and a snorkel. What he does is definitely an athletic accomplishment, but I don't think of it as swimming.
