This is a link to the website for a TI coach who I met at the Maho Bay Camp in January. In addition to being a great TI instructor, Helenita Jacobs, specializes in working with people who have fears of the water. She held a workshop during the Maho Bay Camp, and everyone who went to it said it was extremely helpful. I would encourage you to look at her site and contact her. Suzanne, if you are still reading this thread, I did the nodding drills today at the pool, and they are great. They really help. Thanks. |

If I had a dime for each time this thought crossed my mind .."I'd be a rich man..." There is something to be said for being of a stubborn or determined nature. This combined with a strong desire to learn to swim and the addictive nature of the water keeps us coming back. Then one day, that which seemed impossible, just begins to click. On that day you will leave the pool with a huge grin on your face and will be looking for someone to listen to your story of success! (Experience speaking here!) So play in the water, get used to the water and have fun ! Push your comfort zone just a little with each visit. Set attainable goals and try something new during each swim. Keep a log and look back at your entries and you will be amazed at your accomplishments ... sooner than you think! Since you're are posting here, we know you have the prime ingredient ... the strong desire to learn. Good luck ! Mike

![]() speaking of looking down, after reading Lady Fish's great expierience with
Shinji, she said he talked about looking slightly forward while swimming, this has always confused me,should I look straight down at the pool bottom or slightly forward,in the dvd Terry seems to be looking slighly forward,I dont want to start bad habbits that will be hard to break later, also I'm blown away at how fast I get responses on this forum,I really feel T.I really wants to help people improve their swimming, not just make a buck, thanks. |

![]() Hallo dgk2009,
maybe you should try the following: Do a SG with a strong push off and go from a look back (maybe 100° from frontline) with your head toward a sight to the ground (90°) slowly to a look forward at some 40°. Maybe you could feel your personal position of smallest drag and still best relaxation in your neck. Regards, Werner |

![]() Rather than thinkinga bout where you are looking, think about posture. Swim tall.
Think about "letting go" releasing the tension in your neck & shoulders...see where you shoulders end up.
