![]() So, I can swim about 50 feet, and breathe, however when I use fins I have to use a snorkel because I can’t swim 25 feet. My impression is my mid section is collapsing and I have problems breathing, also I have a very weak kick, I am upper body dominant

![]() Why do you want to swim freestyle with fins? Especially if you don't get along with them.
A strong kick takes a lot of energy and doesn't give much propulsion. I often swim without any kick at all. Best regards Inge |

![]() Scribe, the only pair of fins I had was the light weight alpha fins.
I used them to help me get the feeling of light legs remaining behind me within the draft of my stroke. I did this in the first part of the video by not kicking at all, just dragging my legs. Gave me a feeling of the rotation. In the second half I introduced some kick which made me understand the contribution to forward motion of a well timed kick regardless of how small. Every now and again I do this type of drill but it no way forms a major part of my exercises. Alpha Fins
