Leg sinking is a common thing that occurs when practicing the SG. The purpose of the drill is not try to float but to allow your legs to sink into weightlessness. A few questions: 1. How long have you been practicing the SG? 2. When you push off(with ease) from the bottom of the pool how long can you glide before your legs start to sink? 3. Do you focus on a weightless, neutral and laser beam head? 4. Are your hands relaxed and on wide tracks? 5. Are your legs calm and streamlined As with any drill it takes time and deliberate practice to master. I have a feeling that if you keep practicing with the three focal points I mentioned you will be gliding in no time. Kaizen George Last edited by CoachGeorgeRandall : 06-04-2013 at 04:30 PM. |

2. Right after i push off and my legs are horizontal do they start to sink. 3. I try not to tuck my head in or lift it up, my eyes would be looking down and slightly to the front. 4. Yes they are relaxed, palms downwards and on wide tracks. 5. I try to be calm and streamline from waist down, even point my toes to be a little more streamlined. |

![]() I'm just a beginner myself, but for what its worth I think you are too tense, relax check that your muscles are loose, enjoy the sensation. At all stages of TI someone will suggest you relax more, and they are usually correct :)
