![]() Jazz as you may know, is all about improvisation. Well Terry served us a great impro session yesterday in Montreal, after he was recognized by someone from the "public". Suzanne Atkinson then was confessing that this happens all the time. Anyway, here's the little pearl

![]() Hahah, was the black guy "public" or was he part of the session? He got all self conscious once he saw he was being filmed.
Great demonstration of proper recovery, I never paid much attention to those muscle groups. |

![]() LOL No Bruno (the black guy) was part of our session, but it's true that throughout this informal session, there was a few spectators moving along with Terry. I had received the instruction of avoiding filming them though..

I was conscious of you being in the vicinity with the camera. I'm glad you captured this. I don't think this exercise and explanation has previously been documented. And thanks as well for being a very gracious host on our too-brief visit à votre belle ville.

![]() Charles is speechless...
All I can say is that this jazzy exposé matches Miles Davis best material. Thanks for the Day "Thierry" ;-) Let this tribute thread be an introduction to your next visit. I completely forgot to tell you about a jazz Sushi restaurant called Kaizen downtown Montreal; there's often live jazz duets, it was the case yesterday :-/ Last edited by CharlesCouturier : 08-20-2013 at 12:57 AM. |

![]() Terry's warmth, knowledge, and incredible teaching skills are all evident in this brief video.
It's nice to see this relaxed side of him. I'm used to watching the DVDs with the more formal and stilted speaking style ala a tenured Oxford professor. Terry, have you ever thought of doing an occasional video blog to post on the site? Kind of like FDR's "fireside chats" only poolside. Great job. Scotty |

![]() Thanks, Scotty. Several people have recommended I put a camera on a tripod nearby when I'm teaching. This little clip adds some persuasion to those voices.
