Is this common? Do a lot of swimmers wear ear plugs? It's got me wondering now. I've never had any problems with my ears after swimming.
In my experience, one has to be careful. I tend to get inflammation of the external ear from time to time, and it has a propensity, once you have it, to return. I now use a swimming cap and make sure it covers my ears. Some water will still get in, but it doesn't 'flow' continuously in and out. I will also try plugs soon.
