Well, it all has to do with coordination and balance. So one side is more coordinated than the other side. And you are able to achieve better balance as a result. -- and this is NORMAL! 'Keep working on it and it will come' is all I can say!

Practice the nodding drill on both sides. Focus on rotating head on long axis to breathe rather than lifting head. Head rotates with recovery shoulder.

Try to figure out how your posture is different on one side compared to the other. Maybe you are not as horizontal in water? Maybe you are over-rotated. It will take some good analysis on your part.

Try doing a whole lap breathing just to your more difficult side.
