Of course this is more like weight lifting than like swimming, but at my stage of awareness of these muscles, it was perhaps just the right exercise to get a feel for how to engage and control them. The subtleties of using them while swimming may come at a later stage, but for now I think this was a very educational experience. Thanks for your help!
