Whatever happened to the "mindful swimming" thread idea?
BTW, I just set a non-swimming goal inspired by what I've learned through swimming and meta-learning. (I think meta-learning is the term for learning about learning.) Pasting my goal up on the wall was inspired by Michael Phelps, thanks to Ian Thorpe. The way I will approach my goal is heavily influenced by the TI way.
I decided that, as a new bowler, I would try to match or exceed my wife's old average score with my current best game. Her best was too high to be a reasonable goal for me for a while. So, my best against her average.
The interesting part is what will happen during each shot. ^_^
I hope that means you have a picture of Walter Sobchak up on your wall. If Zen In the Art of Archery applies to swimming, and swimming applies to bowling, then surely "Zen" applies directly to bowling.
To paraphrase: "In the case of bowling, the ball and the pins are no longer two opposing objects, but one reality."
