I took John Fitzpatrick's basic TI course at Blue Dolphin's in Chicago a year and a half ago. I am not a competitive swimmer. I just wanted to take up recreational swimming. I am so pleased with the results. I have become a comfortable, relaxed, efficient freestyle swimmer. I don't splash or waste energy or otherwise struggle in the water. I breathe on both sides every third breath. My arms and legs are relaxed. I move smoothly through the water with the movement generated from the body. I look forward to each swim. Last summer I even started swimming at the beach in Lake Michigan. The transformation didn't happen over night. I applied the lessons and drills at the beginning of each swim and tried not to struggle with it, and over time my swimming is continuing to transform itself.

Terry's audio sounds a bit like the astronauts talking from the moon. Never met the man but you can tell he is a kind and happy person who loves what he does and loves to help people. His book completely changed how I swim and view swimming, love sharing it with others too. Thankful for his good example.

As a Red Cross swimmer/WSI teacher, I had the same thoughts and experiences. The next level of swimming is learning to swim around ones breath. My take on swimming, mostly distance, is it’s yoga in the water.

Terry was/is a blessing
