The spirit of the water, which I did not know how to name it until this moment, usually offers relieve, relaxation and a point of intrigue.
I have been experiencing some anguish prior to swimming for the last few years, even. As much as I love swimming in the sea, and I konw that I will be really relaxed and full of energy and joy after the swim, I tend to feel a little anxious when entering the water and during the first some hundred metres.
But then I can relax and just enjoy the experience. The feeling of going through the water while it holds me and lets me go through it with such ease really conforts me completely.

What a nice story and experience, Terry. Thx.

Terry, thank you for yet another inspiring post. I have not yet taken a TI class, but I look forward to one day doing an open water swim using your techniques. I am a long-time runner who discovered TI through our mutual connection with Danny Dreyer of Chi Running. If you were a runner, I would close with Happy Trails, so I wish you the swimming version of Happy Trails!
