Hi Amir
since we chatted last I've been able to progress quite a bit if i may say so myself :) many thanks for your inputs and tips..

I've been able to swim 20 laps, 30 laps and 40 laps in one week(in September) ... I gave myself the option of taking a break every 2 laps for 5-15 secs before kicking off again...

now my focus is on working my balance - found a few videos of Terry on
youtube that I've been using for drills..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzV2Le3awy4
This entire series is a gem!
I've also gone back to reading his TI book again... basics but super important..

My goal this month is to be able to swim without a break....

Hello Rahul,

You should focus on balance viz superman glide and torpedo after that skating and under switching will help you greatly to seemlessly merge breathing in your strokes.

Hi Amir
Great story of how you've progressed and how people have taken to you. More power to you :)

I'm based in Bangalore, india..

I have been teaching myself TI over the last month but I'm not able to go past a few strokes when I do the rhythmic breathing. I start to feel uncomfortable and immediately stop.
I'm comfortable doing the drills but can't seem to get myself to swim more than a few strokes before I stop.

Any suggestions and pointers would be helpful.

Amir, ~Every time I take a taxi to London Airprort, I ask the Afghan/Syrian/Iraqi/Indian/Yemeni/Sudanese/Pakistani/taxi drivers: "Can you swim?"
You know the answer, of course, and so I direct them to "Free Stuff" on www.totalimmersion.net. Your hero Terry is ours too; he has helped the Women's Swimming Project in Sri Lanka for ten years following the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami to learn TI by supplying us with training material and now five thousand women can swim. Teach a mother to swim and her children will learn also, right? Please do visit our website www.icanswimcanyou.com ...
Right now, we are trying to kick start a Project for a portable fabric swimming pool for the Zaatari Syrian Refugee Camp in Jordan. Can you imagine what an uplift TI would be for 80,000 people in a desert camp where there is not even a single tree and they have lost absolutely everything. If only we could give them that experience; it will not bring back their lost family members or possessions, but it would give them self-esteem, improve their physical and mental health and be an inspiration to live. Also, they will never drown just short of safety on any shore, let alone a foreign one, as they do now. Could such a small Project with such a big impact possibly derive some corporate responsibility support from your multi billion dollar corporation so that they too can share your TI experience? If you think you could help, please email me directly at icanswimcanyou@mac.com and I can furnish you with our details of our formal proposal.
