I'm so sorry to hear of your health problems Terry, but also amazed and inspired by your continued efforts. I've been a T.I. fan for about 15 years now and even as I slow with age I keep on aiming to make all my strokes smoother and more efficient. As a late comer to swimming who struggled a lot at first, I owe every great swimming experience that I've had over the past decade and a half to the Total Immersion training.

Terry:

You have a Hemoglobin level of 8 and yet you still did a mile in 42 minutes! 2 days ago I did the hilly Mount Tremblant Ironman bike leg in 8.5 hours which was good for me as an inexperienced biker, but with my 1:55 swim, brought my bike finish to 5:37 pm, 7 minutes past the cut-off, so I was pulled from the race. 1:55 for the 3.8k swim -- I know that's slow, but at the time I was content to focus on the bike for now, as feeling comfortable in the water was my primary objective when I took up TI as a non swimmer a few years ago. But now that's not good enough and I'm determined to up my swimming game. I'm 69 and have perfect Hemoglobin, so you've inspired me to put my mind to swimming better, and I know following TI's concepts I can and will do it.

"Happy because participating brings incalculable pleasure and richness into my life"-no kidding Terry.
Great post, Terry. My son and
I both have a hereditary neuropathy that affects us in swimming as well as all other sports. I've always had a terrible time accepting that I cannot go as hard as it like or I will bring great trouble upon myself, not for days but weeks or months. And it's not a condition that people know about and understand or even see. My son has a healthier approach-( more like yours) while ive struggled harder to accept limitations. I was complimenting him for still playing basketball when he can't be particularly good at it and he was saying that he can still be a smart player. This all has to do with the activity being more important to us than the ego. Deni Gi

Please look into 3 complimentary therapies. Ketogenic diet, Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy & Cannabis oil. They appear to be a powerful combination.

Thank you for Total Immersion. I still have far to go but already get great pleasure from swimming for the first time. Wishing you good health

Hey Terry,
Thanks for the always-great blog and sentiments. Next step is to ignore the finish time altogether - don't even find out what it was because as you stated it is essentially immaterial - allowing full focus on the joy of participating in what you love in beautiful surroundings!
