How do you do all of this and breathe? I get exhausted after 100 meters. For my job, I need to qualify yearly by passing a basic Watermanship's test. 500 meter free swim and I find it more and more difficult to do. I have tried these techniques, but I find myself fighting against sinking and trying to move forward, all the while trying to breathe without gulping water. Very frustrating.

I truly believe in the TI approach and have been teaching myself over the past year or two.
I can comfortably swim 2500 yds 3-4 times per week but experience difficulty picking up my pace. Average 62 minutes to complete , ~2:30 per 100/yd in 25 yd pool. Will be getting back into open water soon and looking forward to going farther distances than 1.7 miles I’ve done in past year.
I’m trying to be patience , using TT but feel that I have to really increase pull etc to get the pace to 2 minutes.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
