		<description><![CDATA[I think you nailed it with the key phase of purposeful practice...(which I simplified to practice with a purpose).  Another thought I&#039;d share is how we learn from our practices. I recalled one of the age group coaches at our Y that he wanted his swimmers to think about what they learned from their bad races as well as their good races.  I think the same can be said for practices.  For example, last week I was swimming 100s at &quot;pace&quot; and saw 1:25 when 1:30-1:35 is my typical pace.  To my disappointment, next practice I was back to 1:30-1:35 as my pace.  When I thought about my take aways, I decided during my warm up to focus on balance by feeling my &quot;catch up&quot; press my head/chest down in the water.   Back to the 1:25 pace just by setting a small purposeful practice goal of finding that balance during warm up...   ]]></description>
