Even more than that, you mental strength and determination towards your diagnosis is truly inspiring for me. I would like recommend if don&#039;t already know, the work of Dr Joe Dispenza, he is all about using neuroscience to aid in healing. His work, and the work of similar scientists will be featured in the new documentary coming out in October called, Heal. http://www.healdocumentary.com]]></description>

Thanks for your input. I thought I&#039;d responded earlier. I appreciate your counsel to maintain a proper ratio of aerobic to anaerobic metabolism in my training. I&#039;m happy to tell you that we both agree that aerobic training is much healthier. I&#039;d estimate that the ratio of aerobic (feels like conversational running) to anaerobic (huffing a good deal more) is at least 90:10. I feel as if I&#039;m swimming at a very comfortable and sustainable pace throughout most practices--even when my tempo increases. In fact, maintaining that feeling of comfort is a key marker for me.]]></description>

I have been reading about your battle with cancer. I thought I would write a note if you know that swimming is anaerobic physical activity. The human body has three energy systems. But for the purpose of this discussion you can think of two systems – anaerobic and aerobic. You need to maintain a proper ratio between aerobic and anaerobic energy systems to keep the body healthy. Heavy emphasis on anaerobic training puts a significant stress on many internal systems including the immune system. As I recall, you were diagnosed with the immune system deficiency which makes you more susceptible to various diseases including cancer.  To say the least, if your training continues to be mostly anaerobic it might be counterproductive to your fight with cancer. Lenny]]></description>
