And in swimming, probably more than in any other physical activity, there is the possibility to outperform people who are younger and stronger than ourselves. TI swimming has certainly opened up new horizons for me and I hope to become a better swimmer as I enter my 80th year than I have ever been.
But I have to say that my personal “Road to Damascus” was discovering Drownproofing. The realization that we are not far removed from aquatic mammals was a magical moment in my life.
