What do I need to bring with me to my lesson or workshop?

Please bring a suit and towel, goggles and a swim cap (if you have hair that falls below your ears). If you are taking multiple lessons in one day we recommend bringing an extra towel. If you're taking a workshop, be prepared to be out of the water for a lunch break; you might want a warm-up suit or sweatshirt.

How far in advance should I book my lesson or workshop?

Our weekend and after school hours generally fill quickly, so please plan to book several weeks in advance if you would like a weekend or weekday afternoon appointment. Our weekdays can be less busy, so it is possible to book a lesson with as little as 48 hours notice. Give us a call and we will check our availability.

What if I need to cancel my lesson?

Private lessons may be rescheduled without penalty if we are given 24 hours or more notice. If less notice is given, the lesson may not be rescheduled. There are no make-up lessons for group classes.

How long will it take me/my child to learn to swim?

The amount of time it takes to learn to swim is variable and depends on individual comfort, willingness to learn, and frequency of practice. As a rule, we can only teach as fast as the student is willing to learn and absorb new skills— that being said, the pacing varies from person to person.

What if my instructor is sick the day of my lesson?

Total Immersion understands that consistency is a key to learning and as such will strive to provide you with the same instructor for all your lessons if you wish us to do so. However, circumstances which are beyond our control may sometimes force us to substitute another instructor. Total Immersion will always select a sub coach who is an appropriate match for your needs. Students who take private or semi-private lessons have the right to cancel a substituted lesson and reschedule for a time when their regular instructor will be available. For group lessons, TI reserves the right to use an appropriate substitute coach without prior notice and without the option for students to reschedule.
