![]() Excellent that he has kept it up for this long.
There is always room for improvement and no doubt the experts will comment. Just remember to only pass one focal point at a time on to him. Get that right then move onto the next one.

http://www.totalimmersion.net/blog/super-ager/ In his blog, Terry cited a New York Times article on how to become a super-ager. Hopefully, I'll be able to swim like your friend when I'm 70+ years old so that I too might be recognized as a "super-ager". https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/31/o...superager.html |

His routine: " The alarm clock rings at 5:23, I say my morning prayer with the Franciscan friars. From there to Lukács Bath. At home Kata treats me with warm breakfast, she sits to the table with me. Then comes work. From 2 to 4 I sleep, in pyjamas. These days I hardly ever paint in the evenings. After 40 inspiration adjusts to part of the day and frame size. Curfew at 10:45. On Sundays walk with the family, vacation in the summer. It has become an easier task since I've had my laptop computer." His daily routine filmed by a fimmaker: http://deske.hu/iras/html-2014/2011-pel.htm More about him, including all his painitings, photos, interviews etc, a huge blog/diary (in Hungarian tough) on his homepage. deske.hu (He is obsessed about documenting his life.) ![]() I dont think your friend is ever going to leave his windmill timing.
Going from there, his current stroke, The movements above water look ok, be at a bit waterppolo style.nice wide elbows and entry. But the focus of his energy is a bit wrong. Lot of tension to keep those arms in those angles above water, but when he should hold and vault over his anchor to realy power forward he doesnt seem to have the energy to hop over the anchor point and slips to much water,. Hook that arm over the edge before applyying force on it. His connection with his legs is too weak. He has to connect his legs to his core to make a solid tail connected all the way to his ribcage. With this tail he should center his energy in getting a good hold on the water , and throw/lever his body over that anchor. The support should lie on his anchor under his arm /armpit and at the end of his leg, making a bodyplank between these 2 anchor points, and throwing the other side of the body forward and to the other side from these anchor points. Hope you understand what I mean. He is quite a character! Great to have such swimmers in the pool. Look at the whiplike 2bk of this swimmer. the leg action counteracts the effect of the arm forces to heep the body balanced and connected. Its almost the same as the kangaroes tail that works together with the forces of the rear legs to make a total propulsion and balance package. Use your leg as balancing tail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRj8q7hlWjs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_UeBucb2XQ Last edited by Zenturtle : 06-14-2017 at 09:14 AM. |
