Default 2BK and foot pain

Hi, everyone! I am trying to teach myself 2BK (am signed up for a workshop in a couple of weeks). I think I have the basics down and finally have the timing correct, but I am having an unusual problem, which is pain along the outsides of both feet. I wasn't sure if it was the kicking or my new running shoes, but I notice it most when I kick with fins on, throughout my swim, and immediately afterwards. I am anxious to be rid of the pain and am just wondering if this is something anyone else has experienced, and if so, what can be done about it? Thanks for any advice!

Hi, By pain do you mean a cramp in your foot?

No - it's more of a soreness along the outside of my heel, on both sides. it's definitely aggravated by the kicking. I'm thinking it might be a tendon or ligament.

Hello millersanchez,

I'm not a MD, but what happens when swimming without fins?
What happens, if you kick just with long legs, not from the knees, not from the ankles? The feet should be nearly relaxed all time while kicking. Can't imagine as this will irritate the Achilles tendon...

Relax with best regards,
Werner
