Default Open Water Drills-New Experience

It's great to back in the OW!.

After doing a mile swim in a local lake I decided to see what it would feel like to some practice drills. That particular day there was a fairly strong wind and I could feel the current trying to move me when I floated on my back. It wasn't a strong current maybe a 4 (scale 1-10).

I practiced a few of the TI drills using a light kick. I was able to counter the current force with the light kicking causing me to be stationary in the water. It was as if I was swimming in an endless pool..great expereince!

This year 90% of my swims are in OW (weather permitting) that is where my practices will take place. Pool swimming has its benifits but for me I need to be in the OW environment to feel like I'm part of it, to learn from it, and hopefully gain more awareness and expereince from it.
