Weight shift sweet spot
I have been doing makeovers on all my strokes using the book/DVDs. I have totally found the wonderful sweetspot of propulsive weight shift on free and back, and I am tasting it on the fly. But I can’t seem to feel anything on the breaststroke—it feels like pure hard work all the way (OK the streamline feels fine).
I quote this from the book:
“As your hands reach their widest point and wrap toward the inside, bend your knees slightly. This shortens your extended bodyline causing your hips to accelerate forward—and helping snap your feet toward you buttocks. The energy of your hip movement also helps your hands spin quickly toward the center. Keep your elbows high and wide, then snap them inward to drive your hands back into streamline.”
I just can’t feel the acceleration. Do you?
