Default Swim Vacations

I'm sure this has been discussed before so forgive me if I'm repeating the obvious, but has anyone been on one of those swim vacations that are advertised? I wouldn't mind looking into one to Hawaii (never been always wanted to) or the Bahammas. Thanks in advance!

I went on a Swimtrek tour on the Croatian-Dalmation coast in October of 2007 and had a really wonderful time. I felt well prepared for the swims (they post suggested schedules for working up to the distances) but perhaps not so well prepared for the hikes. After completing this tour I felt much more comfortable in open water. The guides did a wonderful job of taking care of us.

I'm currently training for another one. It was going to be British Virgin Islands in March, but I was getting so stressed out trying to get flight connections and work up to the distances in time that I've now changed to Malta in early May. (Even though it's on the other side of the world, it's easier to get to. Go figure.) This time I'll be better trained for the dryland parts of the trip.

One thing to be aware of if you sign up for one of the Swimtrek tours is, you don't get your deposit back if you have to cancel for any reason, but you can apply it to another trip. If you want to take a non-swimming partner with you, they are perhaps not the best choice. There are other tour operators who offer a little more luxury and accommodation for non-swimming s.g.'s.
Okay, I've just clicked on your link and I see it's a different company. One of the more luxurious ones. Looks like fun!
