![]() This link shows her kick, which is one of the best, and as you see very narrow by comparison with some traditional kicks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IADNjNyN0h8 In an article I read on her technique, the main points were that the makes a very fast arm stroke and doesn't bring her elbows in to the ribs as many do. her elbows stay in front of her shoulders always. Also, unlike many, her left arm stroke is almost as powerful as her right. This, with her rapid recovery, means that she spends longer in the most streamlined position. I was intrigued to notice during the recent Olympic breaststroke races that many breaststrokers of both sexes have a decided asymmetry when viewed from overhead and behind. Sony hasn't. Her stroke is also longer than most. If I find the article again I'll post a link to it. |

![]() This isn't the article I was thinking of, but it is a very interesting one with video:
http://coachsci.sdsu.edu/swim/champion/RS160200.htm Incidentally, if you haven't already got it, I recommend the TI Breaststroke for Everybody DVD, which will encourage you to swim more like Rebecca. All right, speaking for myself, I'll never get there, not being young , fit and female, but it's an inspiration. |

![]() Here's a link to her Wikipedia article, which makes interesting reading. I see she can speak Hungarian, so she could have a nice chat with Daniel Gyurta, another gold medallist and world record holder in the 200m breaststroke.
