Default imprint things learned before try new tricks

A little disappointed that I am back to 16-17 strokes now, but still meganificently better than before though.

I can only swim 2-3 times a week. Each time I 'discoveried' and practiced say trick 'A', I have to wait a few days before the next swim session. During this time, I would 'discover' some new tricks, and when I am in pool again, I would be eager to try trick "B" and "C". The good old 'A' is lost or half lost ...

Default Spl

16 or 17 strokes per length is just fine. There are some variables -body height, arm length, body weight-- that affect it, as well as available power. There are tradeoffs between power per stroke and sustainability. You can tailor your spl according to what you need to do. I think it is important to incorporate different "gears" into you practice, so that you can change spl's as needed, but the absolute number is not so significant. For most people, though, over 18 is probably not very efficient.
