English Channel Attempt

TI Open Water Coach/Specalist Dave Barra will be starting his attempt in the early morning hours of Wednesday(if I read his blog correctly at www.usms.org)

I just had a relay do great over there, but my solo swimmer never got his shot. We even extended his stay for a week, but the weather is only just now clearing up.

Dave reached the French coast today in 14 hrs 27 mins 20 sec. Congrats Dave!

Now, just rest a few minutes and swim back...doing it all butterfly

That makes two TI Coaches -- the two Daves, Cameron (2x) and Barra, in addition to possibly 10 or more TI swimmers, who have swum the Channel.

I had to laugh at the swimming back with butterfly crack.

Minneapolis TI coach since 2006 or so Jordan Jelmeland was part of a 5- person relay in 2007 and a 4-person team in 2010. The relay this summer was all TI clients (along with Coach Jordan), two of whom are making solo attempts in the next couple years.
Be careful, Dave....you're starting to look addicted to this stuff!

After 14hrs 27mins and 20secs, Coach Dave Barra climbed out of the chilly waters of the English Channel and onto French soil completing another TI Channel attempt. Lets all give him a big round of applause!!!!

Way to go Coach Dave Barra!!!!!!
