![]() OK, will try that. The spit in the goggles and rinse out is highly inconsistent, and basically doesn't work for me. But I was hoping not to need to depend on yet one more essential item to bring to the lake just before the race. And then forget to bring.

![]() When my goggles start to get clouded, I put a drop of baby shampoo on the inside of each goggle, smear it all over the inside surface of the goggle, and then wash it with water. I find that after I do this, the goggles will remain clear for a few weeks.
I can remember, before somebody suggested this to me, actually replacing goggles because they had gotten too cloudy to see through. Now, when I replace goggles, it's normally because they actually break. Bob |

![]() For fogging I travel a lot and carry a little bottle of a product called "Spit". May be just baby shampoo, but it works! It generally lasts for two swims though on my second one I might need to rinse the goggles once.

![]() The smallest drop possible of baby shampoo. Smear it around both lenses then rinse. If you have a bit left over on your finger, smear on the outside too as it'll get rid of bit of grime, water spots etc.
I also use Foggles upon occasion. They're a no rinse wipe and work great. No fogging in several half Ironmans, a couple of fulls, and the 2 IMWC I survived. If you use those though, keep a snack sized "baggie" pouch to keep them in and keep it moist. It'll be good for several days rather than a 1 time use thing as the manufacturer intended. Happy fog free swimming. |
