![]() Hi you guys,
This is Mike from China.First of all I want to thank Terry for the TI way swim.I used to be struggle in swimming. But now swimming is my favorite sports. It become my biggest hobby in life.I enjoy the every stroke I take in the pool. The TI way is not very popular in China now.But in the Chinese swim forum it is very famous. I also translated a lot of the articles of Terry and other coaches in the forum. They said they benefit a lot from them. Now we have a group base on the IM software. There are around more than 300 people who love TI from all over the China. We discuss the Technic and share our own experience. I think it is a great way to learn. Thanks again Terry and other coaches. I will also post some video clips of Chinese TI enthusiasms in the future. Hope to get some advise. Regards Mike |

![]() I could see the videos in the USA, just had to wait 15s for the ads.
Your friend has a very nice TI stroke. A little bit too much rotation, it shows in the skate video. You want to rotate just enough to get the shoulder out of the water. His balance is nice but maybe too low in front, head looks underwater. So he might be able to spear less deeply at this point. Most people have the opposite problem, with sinking feet, so the deep spear isn't a requirement. Could use a little less knee bend. Interesting to see in the second video of skating that the left knee is straight and stiff, where the right knee bends and flows more naturally. Great work out there! ![]() Ting is incredible. Great great great. Self coached?!!! So many details are beautiful. The wide tracks, patient lead hand, balance relaxed recovery, all in control. Breathing looks good.
The only thing I see and wonder about is that she reaches pretty far forward before spearing into the water. But the entry is quiet, no splashing, and her balance is good. It's nice to be able to reach that far out, I think it gives you a long streamlined hull, and probably better speed in the water but maybe over many years it might stress the shoulder and lead to pain. So not a criticism, just a caution. Excellent work! Quote:
