![]() I'm sorry, Zenturtle, but I can't see anything particularly weird about Jaeger's hands. He seems to have a little outsweep before pulling back but I don't think that's very unusual or unorthodox. What I found interesting was that although Jaeger seems to be a couple of inches shorter than Paltrinieri he still has a longer stroke. I counted twelve strokes per length to Patrinieri's seventeen. Perhaps the more active kick has something to do with that. On the world record swim, it seemed to me that Paltrinieri was kicking more than usual, but perhaps his legs are just reacting to his body movements. Obviously Paltrinieri is comfortable with a faster cadence and shorter stroke and it would no doubt be foolish to try and change it at this stage - or would it?

![]() Lets say I am a little hand action obsessed...
Look at his left hand from 9min 47 to 9 min 50. Can be seen above water too sometimes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nDT4ZSNLxo He is killing time there with some high frequency front sculling or something like that. Got to do something when your lead arm is so patient...ha ha. Looks more streamlined than Paltrinieri, but the 12 stroke count was a little too low to sustain.
