Default Recovery

Can inconsistency in the kicking can lead to sinking during recovery in swimming.

Not sure what you mean by inconsistent but you could actually not kick at all with the legs trailing behind you during recovery . If you over roll too much and you tend to sink and your legs splay out too much from you body line it could give you the feeling of an inconsistent kick if that's what you mean .

In my experience adding too much glide makes you sink - speed up the stroke and I'm sure you will sit higher in the water.
