I'm glad what I'm saying is not-un-TI as I feel guilty that my experience does not match what it's supposed to. My goals were TI's perhaps even before I found TI so I have always been deeply attached to it, and feel my failure to repeat its expected (and promised) results deeply too.
Trying to feel the ball of water or the anchor etc I have always averted my eyes from the sub-phase of the stroke I'm referring to here. That has meant denying what I actually feel in the water. Giving myself permission to focus on what I feel rather than looking to feel something other people feel seems to have liberated me to develop that key moment in the stroke cycle and so to integrate it.
