4 x weekly. Sessions usually go 1600-2000 yds SC. Mix in three bike rides weekly, the long one is 3-4 hrs at 70-80% max heart rate.

Contact with other swimmers can be a distraction. One way to get past the distraction is to play water polo, even at a low-key, friendly level. Experiencing the contact becomes second nature.
