How would you rank your freestyle

On a scale of 1-5, with 1 representing "good" and 5 representing "frustrated beyond belief", how would your rank your freestyle based on where you feel it is currently on your learning path

1-Good
2-Ok-still discovering everyday
3-Better than it use to be but not where I want it to be
4-Getting started on the journey to developing a better freestyle
5-Frustrated beyond belief.

2 but always looking for 1.9.

3 with partial 2, ie. ~ still discovering everyday

3, worlds better than I used to be, but not able to swim as effortlessly and as long as I would like. When I started to learn to swim, I was very naive about how complex swimming really is. Thought it would be like learning to ride a bike, that once I learned the trick of breathing it would be easy. Have had glimpses of what a solid 2 would be like and feel I'm on the verge of a breakthrough.

I'd like to say it's a solid number two.

But it's a four for now.

Richardsk 02-23-2011 02:35 PM

I'd say it's a 3.

A solid 3.65

3 + aspiration of 2 = inspiration.

I'm at a 3.5, but there are days that I leave the pool feeling like a 5 again. Keep in mind you're asking for ratings from an audience that has high expectations and is motivated by continuous improvement. Poll the "swimmer on the street" and you would probably get a bunch of 1 (good) scores.

Our frame of mind is why we check this Forum regularly and are captivated by other people's videos. I'm proud to be involved in this supportive community of life-long learners.
