Description

Welcome to our first Women’s Intermediate Triathlon camp, which will be held in New Paltz, NY From July 31st to August 2nd.  This camp is designed to address the needs of improvement minded women who are looking to advance their knowledge and understanding of how to become a better Triathlete.

Our three day camp will incorporate a full Fishlike Freestyle Total Immersion Swim Workshop and open water clinic along with instruction on training methodologies, bicycle skills, running technique analysis, strength and conditioning, training with heart rate monitor and nutrition for performance athletes.

Our format for this camp will be slightly different from our beginner camp with the inclusion of information for experienced triathletes.  We recommend that all campers have some experience training and racing as a triathlete.

Camp will also include instruction in basic bike handling and riding skills, group ride safety, flat tire clinic and bike fit analysis.

Our camp will include basic running gate video analysis.  We will show you how to effectively use drills designed to improve running efficiency and economy.  Efficient running technique will improve performance and help to prevent many typical running related injuries.

We will teach you how to prepare your transition area to efficiently move from one discipline to the next on race day.  Make no mistake about it.  Transition areas in triathlons can be very intimidating and difficult to circumnavigate but with the proper planning and strategy you will breeze through the transition like a pro.

Proper nutrition is critical to the success of any endurance athlete. We will help you to understand how to more effectively approach fueling your body in a simple and straight- forward manner to gain optimal performance and healthy living.

Designing an effective and practical training strategy around your busy work and family life is critical to your success in multisport.  We will help you design a plan that will work best for the time you have allotted to training and race preparation.

Our camp also includes lectures that help you improve your speed, efficiency, power and recovery.  We will discuss the benefits of training with a heart rate monitor and power meters as well as core and flexibility training.

Open water swimming is by far and away this most intimidating aspect of competing in any triathlon.  On our final day of camp we will bring you to beautiful Lake Minnewaska for a short open water swimming workshop to help you begin feeling comfortable in an open water environment.
